Paracetamol may nurse broken heart

Latest News from Washington: A simple dose of paracetamol could help ease the pain of hurt feelings from a broken heart, a new study has claimed.
The rather prosaic cure emerged in a study by neuroscientists, which found that emotional pain is processed in the same area of the brain as physical pain.
They also discovered that hurt feelings, such as being dumped by a partner, can respond to painkillers.
In a three-week trial at the University of California, 62 people were told to take either Tylenol - the American name for paracetamol - or a placebo and then record how they felt every night...read more

DoT asks Idea, Vodafone to provide information on mobile Internet users

Business news from New Delhi: The Department of Telecom (DoT) has asked telecom operators Idea Cellular and Vodafone to provide Intelligence Bureau (IB) identification of subscribers using Internet on their mobile phones.
    
DoT officials said instructions have been issued to Idea and Vodafone to provide the requisite information to IB at the earliest.
    
The security agency had sought details of some mobile numbers by providing the corresponding IP addresses to Vodafone but the telecom operator failed to respond.
    
The DoT has also instructed other operators to put in place a suitable mechanism that would allow the security agencies to uniquely identify the individual user based on the information provided by them.Click here for read more

Govt Assures Help to Yuvraj in Cancer Fight

Latest Sports News, New Delhi: Sports Minister Ajay Maken has promised government help to cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is undergoing chemotherapy in the United States to recover from lung cancer.
   
"Wish Yuvraj a speedy recovery! Asking officials to find the quantum and nature of help required. Government shld & will help him," Maken tweeted.
Yuvraj, who played a stellar role in India's ODI World Cup triumph last year, has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy at the Cancer Research Institute in Boston.

Sibal Promises Aakash Tablet Free For Students

Latest News From New Delhi: Days after the big bang launch of the Aakash Tablet by the government, Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday said that ‘next generation Aakash’ tablets will be given free of cost to the students.

Currently the government has offered the tablet for Rs 1,500 and soon it would extend 50 percent subsidy whereas the school will bear the remaining cost to distribute the tablets for free.

Sibal said, “In the next five years, the government aims to provide free and compulsory primary education to millions of children.”

Train derails near Guwahati, three killed

Latest News From Guwahati: An Express train derailed on the outskirts of Guwahati early on Friday. Three persons are reported to have died while 50 others have been injured in the accident. Official confirmation is still awaited.
